Indie Nagsawa
Underground Music Scene in Metro Manila is so fun. A lot of underground musician would also tell it to you once you meet them in the bars specially to those who are composing and writing their songs. A lot of talented musicians are there but also there are some that lack practice (just like me!!) in performing live.I feel a vibe of positivity in most of the bands that I watched and talked to.Most of the underground bands support each other, there's respect to each other. I was active in the underground music scene for quite awhile and because two of my bandmates left the band for some reasons and the other one was strange, I don't understand him or maybe he does not understand me either. Going back, I observed that being in an underground band is so freaking tiring but fun. A lot of my friends, family members and officemates told me that you're not getting paid when you play in the bars??? I said to them, YES!! that's the reality, we are not rockstars that should get paid. We are doing it for passion and trying our luck to be noticed in our own scene. If you want to earn big money in underground music scene, it's not the place to go.You should have another source of income that will sustain you to do that things in underground scene. There are a lot of expenses like going to the studio to practice, transportation, meals during gigs, etc and a lot of headaches being in a band like commitments. I just want to play my own/original music. I don't care if no one will like what I do as long as the music I do is from the heart.(cheesy!). I hope I could find another bandmates that I can work with and play again in different bars in Metro Manila and come to the point to feel burnout again but fun.If not, life goes on. I'm just sharing my thoughts.
